Contact your local state office that oversees Foster Care in your county and find out how you can sponsor a child in your county for the holidays. Many children will spend Thanksgiving and Christmas in Group Homes without a family.
If you can't adopt, at least open your home for the holidays for a child who otherwise won't have a place to go.
